For best results, never leave your Epson inkjet without an installed cartridge -- even an empty one -- for more than an hour or so, because the ink -- the original or our refill ink -- will begin to gel to the consistency of honey, which will require multiple cleaning routines to clear.
Step 1) Put the cartridge on some paper towels in an area where you can tolerate a spill. Wear old clothes. You may wish to wear rubber gloves if you don't wish to temporarily stain your fingers.
Step 2) Take out the cartridge from the inkjet.
Step 3) Using a very sharp needle, fill the syringe bottle (30 ml) full with the correct color of ink and insert through the rubber seal.
DO NOT remove the needle of your syringe if it holds less than 100 ml. Instead, leave the needle in the cartridge and refill the syringe portion with additional ink and then continue to inject until you have 100 ml in the cartridge. (We do not want to make un-necessary holes in the rubber seal).
Step 4) Tilt the cartridge so that the rubber seal is up.
Repeat the procedure for the other colors.
Step 5) Using the needle, suck out the air and any ink foam which has formed.
Step 6) It may be necessary to run the software printhead cleaning routine a few times to prime the printhead.
