How to Find Your Instructions

  • If your refills or laser inkjet toner cartridge isn't listed, don't despair. We have more instructions which we are rapidly turning into web pages for many other cartridges.
  • For Toner cartridges not listed, click here.
  • If you don't find your cartridge, send us a question at ink@rankguard.com and we'll send you back a reply within about a day.
  • If you're in a hurry, most Canon and HP toner cartridges are similar in construction to a Canon or HP cartridge we've already listed. Usually, the difference is just in the position of the screws or clips.

Quick Hole-Making Tip

Wherever the instructions call for drilling a hole for a syringe needle, you might prefer melting a hole by heating a large paper clip with a lighter and melting the hole through the catridge with the end of the paper clip. But if you decide to use this method, be sure not to burn your fingers!

Apollo Cartridges

These cartridges are identical to the Hewlett Packard 51625 and 51626 cartridges.

Apple Cartridges

Apple historically has purchased cartridges from other inkjet companies, such as Canon.

Brother Cartridges

Canon and Compatible Cartridges

Canon cartridges are often used in non-Canon printers, particularly Apple, Digital, and Panasonic.

Compaq Computer

Compaq cartridges are essentially the same as Lexmark cartridges.

DataProducts

Digital Equipment Corporation (DEC)

The DEC cartridges are refilled the same as the Lexmark cartridges.

Encad

Encad products use a special ink, but utilize cartridges similar in design to HP and Lexmark.

Epson Cartridges

Some non-Epson products use Epson Cartridges. Be sure to check the number on your cartridge carefully.

Hewlett Packard (HP) Cartridges

Many HP cartridges are used by other inkjet manufacturers. In particular the 51626A design is used by at least a half-dozen other manufacturers.

IBM Laser Cartridges

Lexmark and IBM Cartridges

NEC Cartridges

NEC Cartridges either refill as HP cartridges, or as Lexmark Cartridges.

Okijet and Okidata Cartridges

Okijet products tend to use Lexmark type cartridges.

Panasonic Cartridges

Panasonic tends to use look-alike cartridges to the Canon and HP cartridges.
